1. General: Shri Sanatan Mandir School will meet every Sunday from 9:45 AM -12 Noon. School curriculum, schedule, and contact information are attached herewith.
2. Age Requirement: To be enrolled in the school, a child must be 5 years of age as of September 2026. New students over 6 years of age will be tested to ensure placement into an appropriate language and culture class/level.
3. Punctuality: Students must be punctual and attend each class at their scheduled times. Students coming late will cause disruptions in the normal functioning of the class.
4. Student Materials: Every student should remember to bring the following items for school: School binder – containing prayers (provided), student notebook (provided), pencils with erasers, and completed homework.
5. School Tuition:
   1. Make checks payable to “Shri Sanatan Mandir”
   2. $ 450 for one student
      $ 850 for two students
      $1200 for three students
      (Additional one time $25 Registration Fee for new students)
   3. Please note that the school tuition fee reflects an increase due to inflationary pressures over the last five years as well as the expected costs of equipping the school with new furnishings in the new temple hall. The school tuition fee will continue to include all the charges for any schoolwide events as well as textbooks and other teaching materials as determined by the class teachers.
6. Attendance: Regular attendance of classes by children is very important. Teachers will take attendance during the class every week and maintain records. Since classes meet only once a week, the continuity of what is being taught will be lost if a child misses several classes.
7. Discipline: Children must be quiet, respectful, and obey their teachers' instructions. Frequent unruly behavior will lead to disciplinary action by the school. Continued problems will be discussed with the parents for joint resolution.
8. Prayer Session: Prayer session is mandatory as this is one of the major reasons for your child attending the school. Your child will not only learn various Shlokas, hymns, arati, etc. but will also learn how to recite them publicly in front of all the students/parents/teachers.
9. Homework Policy: Each teacher will set homework policy for his/her class. All students must complete their assigned homework and projects thoroughly and on time. It is important for you to check your child’s homework and support its timely completion.
10. Communications:
    • There will be a first day of school orientation for parents on September 13, 2026. Attendance is mandatory.
    • Class Progress e-mails from teachers: Teachers will periodically send class progress e-mails to all the parents of the respective class students.
    • Parents are encouraged to discuss their child(ren)’s progress with respective teachers.

    • Please review carefully regular e-mails from Sanatan Mandir School for calendar revisions, teacher instructions, event reminders, school closings etc.

11. Parental Support and Volunteering: The success of the school is highly dependent on the dedication and support of the parents, teachers and volunteers. With parental support, we can initiate new activities to enhance your children’s education and cultural experiences. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please fill out the volunteer form and indicate your preferences for the type of activities you wish to volunteer in.
12. School Donations: Shri Sanatan Mandir School receives its support for facilities and infrastructure from the parent organization - Indian Community Center - which is a non-profit organization. We would appreciate your financial support to expand/improve the facilities and school equipment. All donations are tax deductible.
13. Grade Determination: Teachers will hold the final decision regarding promoting a child to the next language or culture level. Promotion to next language or culture level is based on midterm and final exam scores as well as other criteria such as punctuality, attendance, homework completion and overall readiness of the child to move on to next
    level based on class teacher's evaluation.

2026 - 27 School Year - Curriculum

Prayers

Children will learn various Shlokas, Hymns, Aarti, etc. and will also learn how to recite them publicly with correct pronunciations. The school binder includes all the shlokas in Sanskrit with meanings in English.

Culture & Culture Projects

The Shri Sanatan Mandir Sunday School presents various cultural topics to the children through a Culture Class and an integrated Culture Projects Class. This method allows for a consistent message flow to the children, allowing them to explore their culture through an informative, interactive technique-Culture Class and a fun method-Arts & Crafts.

Various cultural themes are covered such as Diwali, Holi, Janmashtami, Navratri, Raksha Bandhan, Republic Day of India, Shivratri, etc. Please review the school calendar to obtain details of celebrations of various festivals as well as information on topics of cultural interest to children.

The art projects are kept simple for the younger children while the art projects are more intricate for the older children. The children not only get to demonstrate their artistic skills but also get a chance to have fun with their friends. Students will be responsible for obtaining materials for these crafts prior to their class session. Topics covered in culture/arts and crafts motivate the children to imagine and apply their skills and knowledge to various projects.
