Since acquiring the property at 16 Jean Terrace in 1989, the Indian Community Center (ICC) has undertaken several capital projects to thoughtfully enhance and expand Shri Sanatan Mandir. What began as a modest ranch-style home has, over time, evolved into a traditional Hindu temple and cultural center serving the spiritual, educational, and cultural needs of our growing community.

 

The development of the Mandir’s facilities has been made possible through the collective efforts and blessings of many Saints, the generosity of donors, the expertise of volunteer professionals, and the unwavering dedication of countless devotees. These efforts have enabled the Mandir to expand its activities, strengthen educational programs, and better serve devotees, students, and community members.

 

Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, Shri Sanatan Mandir is committed to being a respectful and responsible community presence. All facility improvements have been carefully planned and implemented in coordination with township officials, with thoughtful management of major festivals and continued engagement with the surrounding community.

 

Current Temple Expansion Project 

To meet the evolving needs of our community, Shri Sanatan Mandir is currently undertaking a major expansion project with the construction of a Multi-Purpose Community Hall. This new addition will include a 3,500-square-foot hall with seating capacity for approximately 170 people and will significantly enhance the Mandir’s ability to serve the community.

 

The Community Hall will support:

• Larger Mandir events and religious festivals
• Expanded Sunday School classrooms and educational programs
• Cultural activities including music, dance, and religious courses
• Community services such as senior programs, health awareness seminars, and donation drives
• Private religious and family events for devotees

 

The total projected cost of this expansion is $1.45 million. Through the generosity of our dedicated devotees, $800,000 has already been raised. We are now seeking to raise the remaining $650,000 to bring this important project to completion.

 

This expansion represents an investment in future generations — creating a sacred space where spirituality, culture, education, and community can continue to thrive.

Donor Recognition

• Naming recognition for classrooms and dedicated spaces
• Naming of the Multi-Purpose Community Hall for major donors
• Sponsorship of chairs, tables, electronics, and other furnishings with donor acknowledgment
• Inclusion on a permanent donor recognition display within the facility
• Verbal acknowledgment during the Community Hall inauguration event
