About the Mandir
Serving the community with devotion, culture, and spiritual guidance.
The Indian Community Center (ICC) was formed in 1985 with the goal of serving the local Hindu community through educational, cultural, and spiritual initiatives. In 1989, this vision took root with the purchase of a serene 4.5-acre wooded property in Parsippany, New Jersey, which became the spiritual home of Shri Sanatan Mandir. After extensive renovations, the temple was formally inaugurated in May 1991. The sacred consecration ceremony (Pran Pratishtha) was performed in August 1992. Since then, the temple has served the religious, spiritual, educational, and cultural needs of the vibrant Hindu community across Morris County and neighboring areas.
Since its founding, the Mandir has been a vibrant center for worship, learning, and community life. Throughout the year, Shri Sanatan Mandir celebrates major Hindu religious and cultural festivals, bringing devotees together in an atmosphere of devotion and shared tradition.
True to its name, Shri Sanatan Mandir welcomes all devotees—regardless of sampradaya, Deity, language, or regional background—with open arms.
Daily Aarti is performed at 7:30pm, and all major Hindu festivals are celebrated with devotion according to the traditional calendar. Sunday School classes continue to offer education in Indian languages, religion, culture and yoga for students of all ages.
The Shri Sanatan Mandir is managed by a committed team of trustees, committee members, and volunteers who ensure smooth functioning of all spiritual and cultural activities. Our team is dedicated to serving the community and preserving our cultural heritage.
A cornerstone of the Mandir’s mission is education. Through its Sunday School program, ICC offers instruction in Indian languages, culture, and Hindu philosophy, helping children raised in the United States develop a strong connection to their heritage. Beyond the Mandir walls, ICC is deeply committed to service. The organization has supported numerous community initiatives in both the United States and India — including partnerships with local emergency services, disaster relief efforts following major natural calamities, and collaborations with hospitals to provide medical camps for underserved populations.
